Associate Site Reliability Engineer
About the role
Please note that this is a HYBRID role, requiring this person to work at our Cottonwood Heights office in SLC three days a week. We are not able to provide work sponsorship (i.e. OPT or H-1B visa) for this role. Site Reliability Engineers keep the platforms behind Extra Space Storage's applications available, fast, and secure. SRE owns the AWS environments those applications run in, the pipelines that deploy them, the telemetry that proves they are healthy, and the response when they are not. This is the entry level of the SRE track. You will own scoped infrastructure and automation work inside established standards, pipelines, and runbooks, and grow into owning initiatives start to finish. You will spend more time automating operational work than performing it. Performs sedentary work in an office environment with limited lifting (less than 10 pounds) or walking required. Close visual acuity required to perform work at computer terminal. No exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires repetitive typing motion, talking, hearing, grasping and feeling.
Responsibilities
- Operate and improve AWS infrastructure across a multi-account environment, covering compute, containers, networking, databases, and identity, using infrastructure as code rather than console changes
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows, composite actions
