Associate Shipping Clerk 1
JOB PURPOSE
Your Role in Our Mission
JOB PURPOSE: Accurately verifying and preparing orders for shipment by using the established procedures of the shipping department to meet or exceed the expectations of our customers.
SUPPORTS SHIPPING OPERATIONS BY:
- Preparing and verifying a shipment order (pick note order) and its item, quantity and special instruction information while producing a quick, efficient, and safe workflow;
- Ensuring that any errors are caught and reported to customer care, warehouse department, assistant team leader, and/or manager.
MANTAINS QUALITY SERVICE BY:
- Processing outgoing time sensitive shipments using UPS, FedEx and ERP system;
- Accurately entering information in the appropriate shipment software;
- Scanning the product and labeling the shipment appropriately;
- Maintaining an efficient work pace;
- Meting and exceeding all performance measurements: quantity, accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness of work performed.
MANTAINS INVENTORY BY:
- Replenishing supply of shipping boxes, copy paper, etc. at workstation on a daily basis.
MAINTAINS SAFE AND CLEAN WORK ENVIRONMENT BY:
- Operating all machinery in a safe and efficient manner;
- Reporting any safety hazards to assigned supervisor or safety manager;
- Complying with all safety and quality policies, practices and procedures.
CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM EFFORT BY:
- Communicating with other departments concerning orders, shipping options, charges, and transit times as requested in a knowledgeable manner;
- Maintaining a good attendance record;
- Proactively assisting international and inventory and accomplishing related results as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED required, and one to three months related experience required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Basic personal computer skills. (Turn computer on and run one or two programs that are company specific and only require data entry skills)
- Planning/Organization (Prioritize tasks, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, handle multiple projects simultaneously)
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
- Pallet jack training;
- Narrow aisle training;
- Order picker certified.
COMPENSATION
The expected pay range for this role is $17.50 – $17.50 per hour. Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Permobil offers our full-time employees the following:
