Job Summary

The Associate, Senior Physical Security Designer supports Physical Security Consultants in designing and implementing physical security systems for clients and facilities. This role involves collaboration with internal consultants and external design teams, including architects, MEP consultants, and other specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement physical security systems, including access control, surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Create drawings packages, specifications, product documentation, bill of materials, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate security packages with various consultants (locks), civil, mechanical, electrical, telecom, and others.
  • Perform construction administration tasks such as site walkthroughs, punch lists, redlines, RFI responses, and submittal reviews.
  • Develop project-specific wiring schematics, system block diagrams, power and environmental calculations, rack and enclosure details, equipment installation details, division 28 specifications.
  • Support BIM Designers by updating index, legend, and notes; placing devices; creating and updating equipment schedules; and using computer-aided design software platforms (Revit and AutoCAD).
  • Manage and update internal details library.
  • Stay updated on the latest security technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, preferred; advanced technical experience in the security industry may be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in physical security engineering or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Understanding of computer networks and telecommunications systems.
  • Understanding of construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PSP, CPP) are a plus.
