Associate / Senior Analyst - Financial Institutions Group (Chicago)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior bankers on differentiated and industry-transforming transactions
  • Assume high levels of responsibility on a range of M&A transactions and other strategic advisory assignments
  • Manage junior analysts
  • Conduct financial and valuation analyses
  • Handle complex financial and accounting issues
  • Perform industry and competitive analysis
  • Execute due diligence
  • Create and present client materials
  • Support management and execution of live deals
  • Support new business development

Specific Qualifications

  • Strong and demonstrated interest in investment banking
  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of accounting, valuation, corporate finance, and business strategy
  • Responsibility for managing junior analysts
  • Experience as a rising Second Year MBA student from a top business school or a third-year Analyst at another investment bank
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience
  • Superior analytical skills and academic excellence
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Outgoing and achievement-oriented personality

About the Role

The Financial Institutions Group covers a broad range of corporate clients and financial sponsors across Banks and Wealth / Asset Management. The group has a highly successful track-record of advising on notable transactions including company sales, acquisitions, mergers-of-equals, private placements, activism & raid defense assignments, joint ventures, and more.

Pay

Expected Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $185,000

In addition to a competitive base salary, employees may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus delivered in the form of cash and/or deferred equity.
