Essential Functions
- Analyzes, interprets, and publishes high-impact research articles and/or Facts & Figures.
- Provides analytical and technical support to senior staff members in SPHeRe and Discovery Pillar.
- Collaborates with internal and external subject matter experts.
- Publicizes research findings by presenting at scientific conferences and by speaking with the media.
- Ensures the accuracy and consistency of data presented in scientific manuscripts and Facts & Figures Publications and scientific manuscripts (e.g., proofreading text and data checking).
- Documents analytic programs and results in an organized, dated, and clearly labeled form for future reference.
Experience/Qualifications
- Minimum Degree Required: Master's Degree or equivalent amount of experience and education in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Policy, Health Economics, Biostatistics, and Demography.
- Preferred Degree: Master's Degree.
- Certificates or Licenses: N/A.
- Years of Experience: Five to eight years' experience in statistical, medical, or biological research. Cancer screening, early detection, risk factor surveillance, and survey research experience highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 5 years of experience in statistical, medical, or biological research.
- SAS or related statistical software (R, Stata, SUDAAN, SEER*Stat) experience.
- Cancer screening, early detection, risk factor surveillance, and survey research experience.
- Familiarity with large databases (NHIS, BRFSS, SEER, etc.).
- Good communication skills.
- Attention to detail with numbers and calculations.
Prior to Employment
- The starting rate is $75,000 to $80,000. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
