This is a full-time, onsite role based at our customer’s site in Boston, MA. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm EST. Relocation assistance is not provided. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a drug screening.

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s clinical research business is a leading global contract research organization. Our Laboratories Functional Service Partnership (FSP) team plays a direct role in advancing drug development by embedding sustained groups of talent within our customers’ organizations to provide long-term support. This role supports the Formulation Development team through dissolution testing and dissolution method development.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, troubleshoots, and conducts dissolution experiments in support of drug product process development
  • Performs dissolution stability testing on drug products
  • Maintains accurate records of experiments and results in an electronic laboratory notebook and authors reports as assigned
  • Designs, executes, and interprets experiments with a high degree of reliability and independence
  • Maintains general lab equipment, including HPLCs and dissolution systems
  • Collates and interprets data systematically, and compiles results into conclusions or recommendations for discussion with manager
  • Authors and reviews reports, as assigned
  • Participates in the preparation of presentations and may present experimental conclusions at internal department or project team meetings
  • Demonstrates ability to provide high-quality data collected in a compliant fashion in support of regulatory submissions and/or manufacturing
  • Demonstrates effective, self-sufficient communication skills, especially in peer/team discussions
  • Works in a fast-paced environment, manages priorities, and maintains timelines
  • Works successfully in both a team and matrix environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology, or similar
  • 0–2 years of previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (in some cases, an equivalency consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient)
  • Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner
  • Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours
  • Able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds
  • Able to work in non-traditional work environments
  • Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency
  • May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments
  • Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards in a laboratory setting

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position based in Massachusetts is $25.00–$30.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
