Associate Scientist, Biology

Essential Duties

• Maintain tissue culture and generate recombinant cell lines with gene transfer (transfection/transduction) technology.
• Propagate cell lines for screening.
• Execute plate-based assays (luminescence, fluorescence and absorbance based) to determine receptor pharmacology.
• Execute immunocytochemistry and/or live cell-based assays to characterize receptor biology.
• Contribute to scientific discussions, prepare slides to present in team meetings.

Preferred Education and Experience

• BS with >5 years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry, or MS with > 3 years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficient in standard techniques of mammalian cell culture.
• Experience with primary cell and/or iPSC culture highly desired.

Preferred Skills, Qualifications, or Technical Skills

• Facility with plate-based assay instrumentation and fluorescence microscopy (sample prep and image acquisition).
• Excellent communication skills.
