About the role
The Associate Sales Representative role in the Butler Sales department is designed to build the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage a field territory or similar opportunities in the future. This position manages existing accounts and supports regional sales efforts by facilitating special pricing, communicating product information, and implementing strategies to positively impact financial results. The role includes training and development efforts for our broader customer base and involves collaboration with vendors, estimators, and service groups to support Builder success. This position is expected to lead to future opportunities within the organization and may require relocation.
Responsibilities
- Drive the development of a high-performance customer/Builder organization focused on achieving product, market share, and sales goals (tonnage targets, margin, and revenue dollars) within an assigned territory through meetings, market research, and networking.
- Increase customer/Builder performance by reviewing competencies, determining training needs (e.g., sales, product, software, pricing, or procedures), and implementing necessary programs.
- Execute customer training and information programs to develop skills and enhance our Builder network’s capability to promote and sell the Butler difference.
- Support existing customer relationships to foster strong, mutually beneficial partnerships through regular contact, design and product selection assistance, and collaboration to determine optimal solutions for securing projects.
- Support Area Managers by providing customers with prompt, clear information to develop solutions in a timely manner.
- Engage in customer meetings and project development with select clients to support the broader sales team’s efforts in securing key business.
- Participate in regional reviews of quote requests to coordinate projects needing pricing and design recommendations.
- Assist customers/Builders as the technical expert for optimization and pricing of buildings.
Requirements
- College degree in Business, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Skills
- Basic understanding of the construction industry.
- Ability to read construction drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Office and PC-based applications.
Pay
$73,000.00 - $81,000.00 annually, depending on experience, skill set, and qualifications.
