About the role

The Associate Right of Way Agent – PID Project Coordinator represents the Department in extensive public contact with property owners, tenants, the public, and other agencies. The role involves leading and directing the work of Right of Way Agents and handling complex assignments related to appraisal, acquisition/condemnation, utility relocation, project coordination, planning and management, relocation assistance, property management, excess land, airspace, and other Right of Way tasks pursuant to established policies, procedures, and applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.

Pay

  • Associate Right of Way Agent: $7,328.00 - $9,178.00 per month (new hires start at the minimum salary)
  • Shall also consider Right of Way Agent at the following ranges:
    • $4,928.00 - $5,877.00 per month (Range A)
    • $6,096.00 - $7,633.00 per month (Range B)

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle.
  • Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Associate Right of Way Agent or Right of Way Agent exam. Candidates without current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) or new to state civil service must be on the state examination list.

Qualifications

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted and address the following:

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Describe and provide examples of your ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment.
  • Depth of Knowledge: Provide examples showing how your education and work experience qualify you to perform the duties of a Right of Way Agent.
  • Planning and Results Oriented: Provide examples highlighting your ability to meet deadlines, stay on task, and be organized in your current or previous positions.

The SOQ must be typed, no more than two pages in length, and use 12-point Arial font. Resumes and cover letters will not substitute for the SOQ.

If basing eligibility on education, include unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for verification. Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a U.S. equivalency evaluation report from a NACES or AICE approved agency. Redact birthdates and social security numbers.
