About the role
The Department of Emergency Medicine of the Denver Health and Hospital Authority is recruiting a passionate and talented Emergency Physician to serve as Associate Residency Program Director for the Denver Health/CU Anschutz Residency in Emergency Medicine.
The Denver Health/CU Anschutz Residency in Emergency Medicine is one of the oldest and most highly regarded Emergency Medicine training programs in the country, with a longstanding legacy of training future leaders in the specialty. The residency is a four-year training program with 17 residents in each post-graduate class. Residents are exposed to the breadth of emergency medicine through clinical rotations at four partner institutions: Denver Health Medical Center, University of Colorado Hospital, Children’s Hospital Colorado, and UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital.
The residency leadership team consists of four Associate Program Directors (each assigned to one PGY-level class), an Executive Associate Program Director, a Clerkship Director/Assistant Program Director, a Program Manager, Program Coordinator, and Clerkship Coordinator. All faculty report to the Director of Service for Emergency Medicine at Denver Health and hold faculty appointments in the University of Colorado School of Medicine’s academic Department of Emergency Medicine.
Denver Health is a nationally recognized integrated health care system that includes a large safety-net acute-care hospital, a Level 1 trauma center (Ernest E Moore MD Shock Trauma Center), a network of community health centers, Denver Public Health, Denver Paramedics (city-wide advanced life support EMS), and the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center. Denver Health has provided over $3.3 billion in care for the uninsured in the last ten years and is a leader in performance and quality improvement.
