Associate Researcher II - Hematology & Medical Oncology
About the role
The Associate Researcher II position is currently available within the laboratory of Dr. Marcellino within the Tisch Cancer Center, division of Hematology/Medical Oncology. The laboratory focuses on understanding the mechanisms of tumor cell dissemination during metastasis; using a strong combination of microscopy techniques (in vivo multiphoton, confocal and FRET microscopy, light-sheet microscopy and super resolution imaging), analytical imaging approaches, as well as molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.
Responsibilities
- Conducts experiments using advanced research techniques specific to subject matter of the research project.
- Analyzes and assists in interpreting moderately complex results.
- Performs assays to support research studies.
- Aids in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation.
- Might train less-experienced research staff and postdoctoral fellows in research techniques and use of equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in sciences or related field or equivalent experience.
- 2 years in a research environment or 1 year plus Masters Degree in sciences or related field.
- Preferred: Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques such as tissue culture, molecular biology skills such as DNA isolation, PCR and electrophoresis and western blotting.
- Experience in flow cytometry.
- Willing to work with rodents and comfortable with mice handling.
- Ability and willingness to develop presentations of data.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of standard research concepts.
- Candidate must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Compensation
The salary range for the role is $66482.07 - $84560 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
