About the role

Hyosung HICO is seeking to fill an Associate Quality Inspector position at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Memphis, TN. The company is committed to producing high-quality transformers through investment in advanced technology and a talented workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process inspections during the manufacturing process to ensure parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies meet specifications.
  • Document nonconformances professionally as they are found within manufacturing processes and products.
  • Notify production supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting issues.
  • Aid production personnel in solving minor problems and drawing interpretations as needed.
  • Inspect using tools, equipment, and instruments, compare results to specifications, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or direct necessary adjustments.
  • Participate in training to enhance inspection and transformer knowledge.
  • Shadow more senior inspectors to gain experience and knowledge.
  • Prepare and execute parts or transformers for inspection and maintain a safe environment for inspection.
  • Use available inspection/test procedures and data to evaluate the electrical and mechanical performance of each transformer unit.
  • Support and recommend improvements to Hyosung HICO's policies and procedures.
  • Enhance the positive image of the Quality Department.
  • Understand and adhere to Hyosung HICO’s Quality and Environmental Policies.

Requirements

High school or GED; trade or vocational school degree desired. Intermediate mechanical or technical skills. Ability to read and understand mechanical and technical drawings. Developed computer skills for entering and retrieving data. Developed verbal and written communications skills. Knowledge and use of basic industrial measuring tools.

Qualifications

Ability to read, write, and follow instructions. Ability to relate well with co-workers. Ability to use basic hand and power tools. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to work from heights, ladders, scaffolds, and elevated platforms. Ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours per day. Ability to climb ladders and/or stairs 10-15 times per day. Ability to squat, crawl, bend, stretch, and kneel. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to use basic hand and power tools. Ability to perform repetitive movements.

Skills
