About the Role

New York Life is seeking a QA Test Engineer to join the Purchase Experience Technology team. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with various teams throughout the organization to modernize and enhance the automated testing infrastructure, using current and future technology platforms. This individual will work closely with other members of the QA team to identify and articulate process improvements, while delivering high-quality results that enhance the purchase experience.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with multiple stakeholders and identify opportunities to increase automation test coverage on multiple applications.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the test suite and explore ways to innovate using automation tools.
  • Share test output with QA management, ensuring the applications are meeting or exceeding expectations and are not increasing the risk to the health of the application prior to release implementations.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of Quality Assurance, or similar experience.
  • Familiarity with collaborative tools e.g., Jira, Practitest, SharePoint.
  • Experience in QA platforms and tools, such as Selenium, Mabl, etc.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, such as Java, Python.
  • Excellent presence and experience in communicating to all levels.
  • Highly innovative, flexible, and self-directed.
  • Results-oriented person with a delivery focus.
  • Handles multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of NYL products would be a plus.
  • Experience working within agile and waterfall methodologies to deliver large complex projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Certifications in Agile, ISTQB - preferred but not required.

  • Ability to articulate clearly with all audiences at various levels.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently to meet deliverables.

Pay

Salary Range: $65,000-$92,500

Overtime eligible: Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
