Full-time, permanent position located in Marcy, NY (Oneida County) at the Secure Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (STARC), Oakview.
Duties
- Function as an advanced clinician and provide professional psychological services under the clinical supervision of a Licensed Psychologist.
- Perform psychological assessments and treatments, including:
- Forensic or court-ordered assessment, treatment, and expert testimony.
- Specialized psychological services in neuropsychology, geropsychology, sex offender treatment, cognitive rehabilitation, trauma, and substance/chemical abuse programs.
- Specialized assessments (functional, personality, risk, competency, vocational, educational).
- Design and application of behavioral technology and other specialized psychological interventions.
- Individual, group, or family therapy.
- Crisis intervention.
- Provide consultation to other agencies, training, and peer review.
- Supervise psychological services provided by clinical staff.
- Evaluate information from mental health units, probation, parole, district attorneys' offices, etc., to assist in determining the need for admission to a secure treatment facility or release to strict and intensive community supervision and treatment.
- Develop, review, and oversee behavior management plans and/or treatment plans.
- Develop and conduct psychology-related training for all levels of direct care and clinical staff.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in a clinical field of psychology.
- One of the following:
- One year full-time pre-doctoral clinical internship.
- One year of experience under the supervision of a licensed psychologist in a clinical setting.
- One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law (for candidates within State Service).

Pay
Annual salary range: $86,681 to $109,650.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Workweek: Monday through Friday.
- Workday: 6 AM to 6 PM (no flextime, mandatory overtime, or compressed workweek allowed).
- No telecommuting allowed.
