Associate Project Manager (National Travel)

About the role

As an Associate Project Manager, you will assist the Project Manager in the overall administrative and technical direction for one large complex project or direct smaller size projects under the supervision of a Project Manager. Assistant Project Managers may have overall bottom-line responsibility for profit and loss, and consequently carry the appropriate authority, and will provide technical and engineering support as required by the assigned project.

This is a heavy travel position or can be based from a national project site such as Columbus, OH; Charleston, SC; Fargo, ND; San Antonio, TX; or West Memphis, AR.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the total construction and design effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
• Act as a liaison to coordinate communication between both internal and external members on the project, including General Contractors, Subcontractors, Superintendents, and Foremen.
• Assist the Project Manager in the authorization and/or approval of all project staffing, including choice of superintendent, general foremen, and foremen.
• Perform specialized estimating and assist in estimating projects.
• Assist the Project Manager with purchase requisitions, payment approvals, and change order requests.
• Assist in the implementation/interpretation of safety programs and ensure all OSHA requirements are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 0-1 year of construction and/or project experience OR knowledge of construction methods.
• Project management training, experience, or skills with a general understanding of a project lifecycle.
• Strong process orientation, analytical, and mathematical skills.
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Outstanding interpersonal and team leadership skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Willingness to travel to and potentially temporarily relocate to project locations.

Skills

• Experience with Accubid (a plus).
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu (a plus).

Travel

Travel to project sites is required, which may include temporary relocation for the duration of the project.
