Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a technical role that designs and manages electric distribution projects. This role involves estimating project timelines and costs, communicating company policies, and assisting with storm restoration processes. Projects include new construction, maintenance, and relocation of electric distribution facilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for entry into this job include relevant experience and successful completion of the Electrical Distribution Designer Training Program.
  • Knowledge of distribution design, electricity, company policies and procedures.
  • Skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; time management and organization; project management; math and technical aptitude.
  • Abilities: effectively interact with customers and team members; detail oriented.

Education Requirements

  • Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • PREFERRED DISCIPLINES: Technical Studies, Project Construction, Business Administration or an electrical design certificate from a two-year college partnership.

Physical Attributes

  • Prolonged walking with varying terrain, climbing, stooping, bending, prolonged standing and sitting.

Working Conditions

  • Office Work Environment: 51-75%
  • Outdoors: 26-50%
  • Travel: Up to 25%

Test Description

This job requires "recommended" test results from Modern Hire Customer Projects Designer Virtual Job Tryout administered online. The assessment is untimed, but usually takes about 45 minutes to complete.

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range

  • Associate Project Designer: $58,700 - $76,200
  • Project Designer: $65,500 - $85,000
  • Senior Project Designer: $73,200 - $95,000
