Associate Professor - School of Health Sciences (South-Eastern Sydney Local Health District Collaboration)

Position Summary

The Associate Professor (Level D) will provide academic and research leadership within the School of Health Sciences, with a strong focus on advancing allied health research, education, and clinical translation. The role will contribute to the delivery and development of research teaching across a range of health professional disciplines, including Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmacy, Exercise Science and Exercise Physiology, and Physiotherapy. The position will support student learning through high-quality teaching, curriculum development, research supervision, and the coordination of research-focused learning experiences.

Key Skills Required

• A PhD in an allied health discipline (preference may be given to applicants with health science disciplines of dietetics, pharmacy, exercise physiology or physiotherapy).
• Registration with AHPRA or accreditation with the relevant professional association.
• Significant track record in research leadership with outcomes of high quality and high national/international impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence and deliver research leadership.
• Experience in supervision of student research projects at a pre-entry (registration or accreditation) level.
• Significant experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches and technologies, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others.
• Experience in collaborative research projects between health services/industry and university settings, including leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry.
• Evidence of professional development of teaching practice in self and others with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
