The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Associate Professor or Professor/Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs [R0149217].

Responsibilities

• Teach nursing courses consistent with area of expertise.
• Collaborate with other faculty in course development.
• Use teaching resources, such as WebCampus/Canvas to foster learning.
• Provide student supervision.
• Participate in school, university, professional and community service activities.
• (For tenure/tenure-track) Engage in research leading to publications in quality, refereed journals.
• (For tenure/tenure-track) Seek internal and external grant funds.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience and a doctorate in nursing from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
• A Nevada RN license.
• Experience with faculty development, mentoring, evaluation, and workload management.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in higher education, preferably in nursing or health sciences.
• Evidence of effective collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree and comprehensive experience and research activity for Associate Professor (tenure-track).
• Terminal degree, research activity, and a record of extensive scholarly achievement for Associate Professor or Professor (tenured).

Skills

• Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage faculty workload and teaching assignments.
• Experience with faculty development, mentoring, and evaluation.
• Knowledge of academic policies and procedures.

Schedule

Classes in the School of Nursing are offered year-round, using a trimester sequence.
