Responsibilities
- Drive high-impact research in Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence, integrating neural and symbolic methods, reasoning under uncertainty, knowledge representation, and interpretable AI applied to complex and structured domains.
- Lead research initiatives and secure competitive research funding.
- Supervise higher degree research students to successful completion.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and contribute to curriculum development.
- Implement educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Engage with industry partners and contribute to the advancement of the School's research profile, industry engagement, and educational excellence.
Requirements
- A PhD in a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to staying updated with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, course development, and online delivery.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
- Experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
- Evidence of professional development of teaching practice and ability to foster an inclusive culture of excellence.
- Significant track record in research leadership with high-quality and high international impact.
- Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
- Evidence of interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, and values.
Qualifications
- PhD in a related discipline.
- Relevant work experience.
