What To Expect
The Semi Associate Production Manager will lead a high-volume manufacturing team at our new Semi Manufacturing Factory in Sparks, NV. The Semi Associate Production Manager will oversee multiple automated assembly areas and shifts ensuring safe and quality production of the Tesla Semi structure and associated components. A successful candidate will be capable of developing their team of Supervisors, driving results through strategic cross-functional collaboration and communication, while supporting Tesla’s mission to help accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
What You'll Do
- Drive your manufacturing teams to achieve established targets for daily going rate and on-time delivery as well as development of continuous improvement actions
- Define shop objectives to meeting business plans, capacity and headcount targets, and key performance indicators (KPI’s)
- Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
- Conduct analysis and prepare reports on projects and process improvements as well as make countermeasures for timely completion of project goals
- Manage Supervisors, Leads and Production Associates while developing the team structures and building a strong, motivated team capable of consistently delivering high-quality products against aggressive production targets
- Support issue resolution including root cause investigation and an environment of continuous learning
- Ensure consistency in standards and documentation. Monitor for compliance as well as support and manage continuous improvement activities in safety, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity objectives
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years experience managing teams of people in a high-volume, assembly and manufacturing setting, or equivalent experience
- Degree in Business or technical discipline or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Experience with process improvement methodologies to optimize efficiency and throughput in automated assembly/joining stations with in-depth understanding of mechanical and standardized processes
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate and command the English language, both written and verbal
- Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Fluency with common MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
