About the role
The Semi Associate Production Manager will lead a high-volume manufacturing team at our new Semi Manufacturing Factory in Sparks, NV. This role oversees multiple automated assembly areas and shifts, ensuring safe and quality production of the Tesla Semi structure and associated components. A successful candidate will develop their team of Supervisors, drive results through strategic cross-functional collaboration and communication, and support Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. The ideal candidate has a track record of significant achievements in a fast-paced production environment, a strong drive, and flexibility to meet the business's time requirements.
Responsibilities
- Drive manufacturing teams to achieve daily production targets for going rate and on-time delivery, including continuous improvement actions
- Define shop objectives to meet business plans, capacity and headcount targets, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Ensure Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance, including safety training, incident documentation, hazard correction, and proactive operational improvements
- Conduct analysis and prepare reports on projects and process improvements, implementing countermeasures for timely completion of goals
- Manage Supervisors, Leads, and Production Associates, developing team structures and fostering a motivated team capable of delivering high-quality products against aggressive targets
- Support issue resolution, including root cause investigation and an environment of continuous learning
- Ensure consistency in standards and documentation, monitoring compliance and supporting continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing teams in a high-volume assembly and manufacturing setting, or equivalent experience
- Degree in Business or a technical discipline, or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Experience with process improvement methodologies to optimize efficiency and throughput in automated assembly/joining stations, with in-depth understanding of mechanical and standardized processes
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands, and meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
