Associate Product Design Engineer

About the role

The Associate Product Design Engineer is an entry-level engineering role designed for recent graduates. This role supports new product development and sustaining engineering efforts within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of new and existing products, including concept generation and design iteration that meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Create and modify 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop product documentation packages (drawings, BOMs, specifications).
• Support prototyping, sing, and validation activities; help analyze data against performance requirements.
• Participate in cross-functional product development teams (engineering, product management, manufacturing, quality, supply chain).
• Conduct engineering analysis, benchmarking, and problem-solving activities.
• Affirm designs meet applicable codes, standards, and internal requirements.
• Interface with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to support design for manufacturing and cost targets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to engineering processes and product performance.

Requirements

• B.S. Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Internship, co-op, or project experience preferred.
• Exposure to CAD modeling and engineering documentation standards.

• Required: Education and experience as stated above.

• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of engineering fundamentals.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship/co-op experience in a manufacturing or product engineering environment.
• Exposure to plastic part design, assemblies, or manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Excel or basic data analysis.
