About the role
CBS News is seeking an Associate Producer to join their team. This role will be responsible for assembling a daily news block for their overnight broadcast, working closely with the anchor and team in the control room.
Responsibilities
- Create a comprehensive and visually compelling news block for the top of the show.
- Aid the producer in the control room, navigating both live and recorded content.
- Prepare the rundown, managing copy and the production of video and graphic elements.
- Communicate with the control room team clearly and proficiently.
- Collaborate with the special events team on breaking news coverage.
- Responsible for editorial and creative content for breaking news and special reports overnight.
- Cookgraphics and all other editorial and production elements for special reports.
Qualifications
- 2+ years producing experience in a professional newsroom.
- Control room experience for a network, streaming or cable news program is a plus.
- Must have robust news judgment and experience with breaking news.
- Thrives in high-pressure and time-critical situations.
- A self-starter that is also able to take direction from producers and senior producers.
- Willing to work Sunday through Thursday, 7:30 PM–3:30 AM and deal with a flexible schedule.
Benefits
- Hiring Salary Range: $67,000.00 - 72,100.00.
- The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies.
- Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
