Associate Procurement Agent - Wichita KS
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units. Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. The Raw Material Commodity Purchasing Team is responsible for the procurement of both metallic and non-metallic materials.
About the role
Procurement Agents are responsible for various aspects of the purchased component life cycle, including requirement identification, sourcing, order placement, and receipt/delivery. The role operates in a team-oriented culture, collaborating with peers and other organizations to execute procurement activities.
Responsibilities
- Synchronize the supply chain to obtain goods and services for the company.
- Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure quality parts are delivered on time and to the correct location.
- Act as an authorized agent of the company, managing supplier-related activities and committing company resources through contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
- Develop requests for quotations and proposals, analyze supplier responses, negotiate and award contracts, and manage post-award supplier activities.
- Manage inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier performance.
- Monitor customer inventory demand and material assets to optimize supply chain planning.
- Incorporate planning decisions from customers and suppliers to reduce material and product variability and arrive at optimal solutions.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED (required).
- 2+ years of experience in a supply chain role, preferably within metallic or non-metallic raw materials, aerospace, or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with any leadership level.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Project management experience and skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships, leveraging effective communication and influence to achieve business outcomes.
Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience in manufacturing, manufacturing materials, and processes (advantageous).
- Familiarity with MRP Systems, with preference given to SAP experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience (preferred).
- MBA (a plus).
- Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills (a plus).

Pay
- Summary Pay Range (Level 2): $54,550 - $83,650, based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
- Kansas Tax Credit: Eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
