About the role

Hyosung HICO is transforming the future of energy from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Memphis, TN. We are seeking an Associate Processing Technician to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic operations on various machines and equipment relating to the drying, oil processing, dry air, and other processes of power transformers
  • Manufacturing tasks such as basic mechanical assembly, loading and unloading of machinery and operation of non-CNC equipment; hand tools, measurement equipment and oil filling equipment as examples
  • Move liquid materials within tank farm and from tank farm to factory
  • Setup and operate oil purification, oil heating, and other oil handling equipment
  • Operate complicated machines and equipment with rigid tolerances
  • Affirm quality criteria is properly inspected, verified and documented during manufacturing to ensure product meets specifications, tolerances, prints and customer order requirements
  • Identify and correct defects appropriately
  • Perform basic electrical tests to confirm proper wiring and insulation per specification
  • Follow prints, bills of material, specifications and work instructions to determine proper component parts for processing, assembly and installation
  • Follow and comply with standard work procedures and sequence of operations to consistently meet manufacturing standards for safety, quality, cost, and productivity
  • Safely move, handle and store materials without damaging items
  • Participate in TPM tasks as directed for each job or area
  • Practice 6S and adhere to all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices
  • Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissors lifts and work platforms, and air transporters
  • Assist other manufacturing areas as needed
  • Support and assist the Manufacturing Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager as needed
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and TPM on equipment and machines
  • Absorb and verify the work of other employees according to Company procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent and less than two years of training and/or experience, or equivalent education and experience
  • Intermediate mechanical or technical skills
  • Experience using various hand and power tools
  • Basic ability to read manufacturing drawings/specifications, prints or work instructions
  • Basic math and practical geometry skills
  • Basic computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and understanding of computer applications
  • Basic knowledge and use of simple industrial measuring tools

Physical/Mental Characteristics

  • Ability to safely and correctly use hand and power tools and measurement devices
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and climb stairs
  • Ability to inspect work
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
  • Ability to judge the quality of work produced compared to established standards, drawings, and instructions
  • Ability to operate powered equipment, such as fork truck and overhead crane
  • Ability to work in outdoor climate and normal indoor temperatures
  • Ability to stand and walk minimum 6-8 hours per day
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, stretch, twist, crawl, kneel, and reach above the shoulders as required to perform essential job functions
  • Ability to work in restricted spaces
  • Ability to climb and work up to 20 feet off the ground for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform repetitive movement
  • Ability to use all applicable PPE including but not limited to hard hat, safety toe shoes, safety glasses, and gloves
