BlackRock’s Private Financing Solutions division (PFS) is hiring an Associate-level Fund Accounting professional in Princeton, NJ to support the firm’s Private Credit Funds. This role offers growth opportunities as the firm expands its product offerings and engages in platform-wide projects.

About the role

The Fund Accounting team maintains the books and records of the funds, including NAV calculation, management and performance fees, expense review, and capital calls and distributions. The team collaborates with internal groups (Middle Office, Cash Management, Asset Management/Valuation, Legal, Investor Relations, Management Company Accounting) and external third-party fund administrators.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly and quarterly closing of funds’ books with administrators; maintain shadow books and records
  • Prepare and review complex management and incentive fee calculations
  • Prepare and review partners’ capital statements, capital call and distribution calculations, and notices
  • Review fund expenses for accuracy; coordinate accruals and payments
  • Calculate and review monthly investor return and NAV estimates
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements
  • Drive efficiency and innovation by reviewing operating procedures and evaluating/implementing technology improvements
  • Own day-to-day accounting and administrator oversight to ensure timely, accurate investor reporting
  • Maintain a robust control environment to mitigate risk of error
  • Participate in Accounting Policy discussions; communicate impact on business, financial results, and reporting/disclosure requirements
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with SEC, NFA, and other applicable regulations
  • Handle ad hoc reporting and projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (preferred)
  • 3–5 years of combined experience in Fund Accounting and/or public accounting, preferably within Credit or Asset Management with exposure to Private Credit
  • “Big Four” public accounting experience (preferred)
  • CPA (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and think creatively
  • Highly organized with proven ability to execute complex tasks under tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail; experience with large datasets (preferred)
  • Fluency in Excel (VBA knowledge a plus), PowerPoint, and Word

Pay

For Princeton, NJ, the salary range is USD 95,000 – USD 127,500. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

Schedule

BlackRock’s hybrid work model requires at least 4 days in the office per week, with 1 day per week available to work from home. Some roles may require more in-office time.
