About the role

This onsite role supports at least one production area within the department, focusing on delivering high-quality, consistent physical communication materials. The position involves operating high-capacity production printers, document finishing equipment, and mail inserting machines, with workloads driven by regulatory due dates and client demands.

Responsibilities

  • Read, review, and interpret job specifications to print, finish, transport, and insert daily client correspondence.
  • Complete basic machine setup and calibrations to ensure seamless operation of equipment while maintaining quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of proof and production job components to verify accuracy and safeguard the organization’s brand and client experience.
  • Collaborate with experienced staff to address and correct identified issues or concerns.
  • Update workflow administration tools to progress jobs to the next production stage or mark them complete.
  • Provide basic maintenance support for in-house production equipment and work with peers to troubleshoot errors.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, best practices, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and restock supplies daily.
  • Receive and apply constructive feedback during training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement (CI) tools to eliminate waste and optimize processes.
  • Communicate regularly with peers, vendors, contractors, consultants, and supervisory staff, including providing insights on process or equipment improvements.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Familiarity with operation and maintenance of industrial equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, work quickly, and maintain accuracy.
  • Thorough attention to detail, commitment to quality, and client-centric focus.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours or different schedules as needed.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, squat, reach, sit, bend, and count for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift sixty-five pounds and push/pull skids of material.
  • High degree of hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • General aptitude using computer systems and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to obtain formal training certification for operation of electric pallet jack.
  • Capability to tolerate noise and exposure to paper dust.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma training or experience with process improvement, continuous improvement, and leading change.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience using industrial printing, finishing, or mail inserting equipment (e.g., digital print, folding, cutting, binding, or mechanical inserting machines).

Pay

The applicable hourly wage range for this full-time role is $17.10 - $23.14 per hour, determined by factors such as location, relevant experience, skills, and business needs.
