Associate Principal Scientist - Biology
Neomorph is seeking an experienced drug discovery biologist to support our growing pipeline by driving programs from early discovery through IND-enabling studies. The successful applicant will collaborate across functions to establish project strategies and advance programs toward data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams to advance therapeutic candidates from early discovery to clinical development through strategic prioritization, interdisciplinary collaboration, and technical execution.
- Independently lead the development and execution of project-specific cellular assays to define target mechanism of action, assess pharmacodynamic response markers, and identify relevant patient populations.
- Design and implement triaging strategies to support SAR advancement and refine target compound profiles based on mechanistic understanding of biology.
- Generate and lead new target nomination, identification, and validation activities leveraging the molecular glue degrader modality.
- Anticipate, evaluate, and strategically respond to changes in the scientific, competitive, or regulatory landscape.
- Communicate scientific advancements, strategic shifts, and risk assessments to project stakeholders.
- Contribute to Neomorph’s culture of scientific rigor, collaboration, and continuous learning by sharing expertise and mentoring junior scientists.
Requirements
- PhD with 6+ years, MS with 9+ years, or BS with 11+ years of industry experience.
- Track record of strategically advancing preclinical drug discovery programs with robust data packages.
- Experience independently developing and implementing reproducible SAR-enabling assay cascades.
- Experience managing a team, including directing and coaching employees.
- Experience participating in and/or leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Desire and capacity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative research setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with targeted protein degradation.
- Experience managing teams of one or more associate scientists.
