Job Summary

The Salesforce Technical Architect is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of scalable Salesforce solutions. This role acts as the senior most technical expert on Salesforce projects, overseeing developers, enforcing coding best practices, guiding architectural decisions, and ensuring high-quality implementations across various Salesforce applications.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Drive the architectural strategy and vision for complex enterprise solutions within the Technical Architecture family
  • Develop and maintain architectural frameworks and governance to ensure consistency across projects
  • Conduct architectural reviews and provide expert guidance to development teams
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders including business development and operations teams
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies related to architectural decisions
  • Lead innovation initiatives by exploring new architectural styles and patterns
  • Provide leadership in troubleshooting and resolving complex architectural issues
  • Support the professional growth of team members through coaching and knowledge sharing

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership
    • Delivery: Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of Salesforce projects ensuring solutions meet performance, scalability, and security standards
    • Mentorship: Oversee and mentor Salesforce developers and administrators providing guidance on Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), integrations, and CICD
    • Review: Review solution designs and technical specifications before development begins
    • Coordinate: Own the technical backlog and coordinate with project managers and product owners to align technical priorities
  • Solution Design
    • Development: Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications, solution designs, and data models
    • Components: Develop high-quality reusable components using Apex classes, triggers, batch jobs, LWC, Flows, automation tools, SOQL/SOQL queries
    • Data Models: Design secure and scalable sharing models, permission sets, and roles
  • Integration Ownership
    • Architect and Implement: Architect and implement integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST, SOAP APIs, middleware (MuleSoft, Boomi, Jitterbit), and event-driven patterns
    • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot integration failures and optimize performance
  • Governance
    • Best Practices: Establish, enforce, and evangelize Salesforce development best practices, coding standards, and DevOps processes
    • Compliance: Ensure compliance with org limits, governor limits, and Salesforce security guidelines
    • Optimization: Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines, Gearset, Copado, Jenkins, Git-based workflows
  • Cross Functional Collaboration
    • Work with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to validate feasibility of requirements
    • Create and maintain technical documentation including Data flow diagrams, API specifications, deployment guides, coding standards
    • Support UAT cycles, resolve defects, and facilitate knowledge transfer
  • Documentation Support
    • Create and maintain technical documentation including Data flow diagrams, API specifications, deployment guides, coding standards
    • Provide L3 support for complex production issues

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 10 - 15 years of experience working with Salesforce
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in Apex classes, triggers, asynchronous operations, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOQL queries, Flows, and automation
  • Integration Technologies: Strong command of integration technologies, REST, SOAP, middleware, event-driven architecture
  • Security Understanding: Strong understanding of Salesforce security model, sharing architecture, governor limits, performance tuning, CICD, and DevOps
  • Experience: Experience with Sales, Service, or Experience Cloud
