About the role

The Associate Portfolio Manager, Trading works with Wealth Advisors, Associates, and the Investment Team to monitor and invest client accounts. This position executes stock, mutual fund, and fixed-income trades to invest cash, raise cash, and rebalance accounts according to established guidelines. The role also monitors accounts, performs periodic compliance reviews, and recommends or takes corrective actions when appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Level I – Entry Level
    • Execute stock and mutual fund trades as requested by advisors.
    • Rebalance client accounts to predefined target allocations.
    • Monitor accounts to ensure they are invested according to established guidelines and account-specific policies and restrictions.
    • Maintain and update client-specific restrictions and investment guidelines in trading systems.
    • Generate trade proposals and recommendations as requested by advisors.
    • Perform periodic reviews of accounts for compliance purposes.
  • Level II – Advanced
    • Work directly with advisors to generate and execute customized proposals for clients’ unique situations, incorporating legacy holdings, tax minimization, and asset location across multiple accounts.
    • Monitor and review trades generated across all client accounts; compile and execute trades in the appropriate market venue seeking best execution.
    • Manage trading of large orders, illiquid assets, or other uncommon securities.
    • Implement model changes across multiple client accounts.
    • Assist in the generation of performance reporting, market commentary, and presentation materials.
    • Act as an interface between trading functions and other core Wealth Management teams to problem-solve and plan as needed.
    • Complete investment analysis, under the supervision of the Investment Portfolio Manager, such as equity, fixed income, or mutual fund research.

  • Adhere to established policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality of customer account information.
  • Minimize trade errors and account-level non-compliance.
  • Maintain timeliness of response to trade requests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including experience with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros, and VBA).

Pay

Base pay range: $55,000 – $73,000 per year. Salary offered is based on factors including job duties, required qualifications, relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
