Associate Portfolio Manager (MBA)
About the role
Portfolio Management is responsible for the daily oversight and management of Dimensional’s funds and implements our investment philosophy across all investment solutions. The team collaborates closely with Trading, Research, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and the Global Client Group to ensure a superior investment experience for clients.
The Portfolio Management team ensures that Dimensional’s ETFs deliver consistent and efficient exposure to the dimensions of higher expected returns, as identified by modern financial economics. Portfolio managers achieve this through a daily and systematic process, while also interacting with current and prospective clients.
As an Associate Portfolio Manager, you will cover all aspects of managing ETFs and other equity portfolios, and discuss our investment thesis and portfolios with a wide range of clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of ETFs and other portfolios, including issuing buy/sell instructions in global markets, creating ETF baskets, trading foreign currency, electing on corporate actions, and evaluating security eligibility.
- Monitor ETF characteristics and maintain portfolio structure using a process-driven approach, identifying buy/sell candidates systematically and partnering with global trading teams.
- Collaborate with Capital Markets to enhance ETF market quality and efficiently manage flows.
- Provide verbal and written explanations of Dimensional funds, performance, process, and investment-related issues to internal teams, existing clients, and prospects.
- Challenge current thinking and explore new opportunities to evolve Dimensional’s investment offerings.
- Work with Sales, Marketing, Consultant, and Client Services teams to respond to clients’ investment needs.
- Lead projects focused on improving the efficiency of the investment process.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an MBA program with anticipated graduation between December 2026 – June 2027.
- Strong philosophical alignment with Dimensional’s investment strategy.
- 5+ years of experience in financial services.
- Excellent quantitative problem-solving and analytic skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and solid communication/presentation skills.
- Comfort with large data sets and high attention to detail.
- Strong time-management skills and aptitude for learning basic programming languages.
- Knowledge of SQL, VBA, and Excel is helpful.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
