About the role
We believe that planning is the key to delivering Famously Effective work for our clients. Planning for us is the catalyst that will ignite a brand’s trajectory. This is based on the relentless quest to understand what matters in people’s lives as well as an unwavering passion to uncover deep insights within the business/brand that can increase relevancy and engagement.
The Associate Planning Director is responsible for serving as strategic lead on one or two small accounts and strategic support on larger, integrated accounts. You will lead smaller new business opportunities with some autonomy and ensure the Planning team develops strategic skill sets to uncover compelling insights that differentiate a brand.
Responsibilities
- Lead one or two client relationships (these may be within the same client organization), acting as a consultant to provide clear, strategic advice.
- Partner with other agency department leads to ensure strategic thinking is incorporated in all aspects of the agency’s work.
- Lead the strategic component of new business pitches.
- Serve as the lead team member on the brand team for the businesses you are directly responsible for, ensuring the quality of strategic and creative products.
- Develop an immersive understanding of your brand’s market dynamics, customer mindset, competitive environment, brand goals, and industry trends to deliver insights that inspire creative teams and drive meaningful marketing impact.
- Own and command client relationships at the most senior levels.
- Develop strategic deliverables including competitive analysis, brand positioning, creative core idea, market research synthesis, creative briefs, workshops, and brand plans.
- Uncover key customer and market insights as the basis for strategies and communication that change perceptions and influence behavior to create a competitive advantage.
- Lead brand and creative strategy development, including positioning, targeting, and creative briefs that inspire great creative work.
- Craft well-written insight strategy presentations for new and existing business, with an ability to analyze, reflect, distill, and story-tell.
- Develop, direct, and evaluate quantitative and qualitative research that answers key questions and provides fodder for insight identification.
- Manage and mentor the team to foster engagement through learning and development, leading to career growth at all levels.
- Contribute to the overall agency culture through exemplary modeling of our core values.
- Work cross-functionally within the agency to ensure the successful and innovative execution of approved strategies.
- Serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert within the agency, with clients, and within the industry at large.
Requirements
- Skilled in storytelling and public speaking.
- Experienced in leading new business presentations and workshops.
- 6-8 years of experience in advertising or a related industry.
- Deep expertise in oncology HCP (Healthcare Professional) expertise.

Pay
Pay Range: $75,000 - $180,000 USD
