Full time 36 hours/week | 7:00am - 7:00pm, variable days of the week

About the role

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups
• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Required Licensure/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only
• Required Experience: Less than one year

Skills

• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team
• Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions
• Ability to read/write in English
