Schedule

Full time, 36 hours per week. Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

About the Role

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team
• Ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions
• Ability to read and write in English
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually (required for the Psychiatric unit only)

Age of patients served: all age groups.

Required experience: less than one year.
