Full time, 36 hours per week | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

About the role

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision
• Assist in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment
• Demonstrate service excellence to promote patient and family satisfaction

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually (required for the Psychiatric unit only)
• Demonstrates teamwork and professional communication with the healthcare team
• Ability to learn and apply hospital computer technologies and procedures affecting patient care delivery
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions
• Ability to read and write in English

Qualifications

Experience caring for patients of all age groups.

Less than one year of experience required.
