Job Summary
Vanderbilt Health - Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for an Associate Operating Officer (AOO) at Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital (VCH). Accountable to the President, Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishes an environment of trust, fairness, consistency and confidentiality with team members and with other internal and external customers consistent with VUMC Credo
- Collaborates with department heads and executives of the various entities within VUMC to determine product and service needs
- Develops and implements programs and operating procedures to ensure those needs are met
- Led and models collaboration with others to identify and address issues, solve problems and evaluate outcomes
- Participates in departmental and/or organizational committees to address system problems/issues and facilitate information exchange
- Create an environment that encourages and supports self-development and learning for all staff through regular feedback, orientation, training, and competency assessment
- Analyze and evaluate ongoing programs to identify areas in need of adjustments or improvements
- Create a work environment to ensure the most effective and productive utilization of human resources in the department
- Develop, implement, and manage operational strategies, operating systems, standardization, and programs to drive optimum performance of clinical practice within inpatient environments
- Affirms that VCH delivers the highest quality of care consistent with VUMC expectations
- Fosters the development of process redesign and improvement to ensure timely management of patients, efficient utilization of resources, patient satisfaction, provider satisfaction, and consistent work systems
- Ensures that VUMC policies and procedures are followed according to standards
- Communicate within and across departments to maximize effective operations
- Communicate clear expectations to direct reports that support excellence across all pillars of performance
- Prepares reports on operational, financial, and service performance for the President
- Establishes practice-based operational metrics and management approaches working collaboratively with key stakeholders to achieve the highest performance across all pillars
Qualifications
- Master's Degree required (Nursing, MBA, MHA)
- 10+ years experience
