About the role
Taft is seeking a team-oriented attorney to join its Mass Tort and Product Liability Group. The firm will consider candidates for midlevel or senior associate, of counsel, or junior partner positions.
Responsibilities
The team serves as national coordinating counsel and lead trial counsel across multiple jurisdictions, handling matters from early case evaluation and venue strategy through expert development, bellwether selection, trial, and appeal. Their work spans consumer products, industrial equipment, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, e‑cigarettes, chemicals, and other products involving complex scientific and technical issues. The group defends manufacturers, retailers, and self‑insured companies in sophisticated, high‑exposure matters in state and federal trial and appellate courts.

Requirements
- At least four years of experience handling complex product liability, mass tort, class action, or other high‑stakes litigation.
- Top academic credentials, including placement in the top 20% of their class at a first‑tier law school.
- Trial experience or a judicial clerkship is preferred but not required.
