Associate Nurse Manager - SCT/ICU Inpatient Units (PM Shift), Full Time

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
• Oversees daily operations of the nursing unit and personnel.
• Provides direct patient care as needed per entity standard.
• Assumes 24/7 responsibility when needed.
• Collaborates with Nurse Leaders to formulate and implement short- and long-term goals aligned with organizational priorities; monitors and oversees expectations of nursing care and documentation, ensuring adherence to Standards of Practice.
• Reports issues, concerns, unusual patient or staff occurrences, changes in staffing requirements, patient acuity, or risk-related incidents promptly to leadership.
• Assists in developing roles and responsibilities of direct reports by fostering a culture of talent management and development within the specialty area.
• Works with leaders to identify, develop, and retain high-potential employees through delegation, stretch assignments, supervision, and educational programs.
• Encourages nursing staff to advance through the Professional Development program.
• Monitors productivity, flexes staffing appropriately, and meets or exceeds financial targets.
• Improves employee engagement through collaboration, accountability, one-on-one meetings, and recognition of team performance.
• Participates in and initiates the corrective action process when necessary, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of policies.
• Demonstrates active support of hospital Process Improvement (PI) philosophies and aligns departmental goals to support PI initiatives.
• Works closely with leaders to develop quality improvement processes, ensuring safe and high-quality patient outcomes; implements Evidence-Based Best Practices and actively participates in policy or process improvement committees.
• Consistently rounds on patients, monitors bedside handoff, and ensures staff responsiveness to call lights.
• Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
• Ensures employees are trained on controls, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (required).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (required).
• Valid State of Florida RN license (required).
• Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements.
