Associate - Mergers & Acquisitions

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance associate to join the Finance & Transactions team in our Chicago or Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate term sheets and draft (or mark up) the first draft of a purchase/merger agreement
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously
• Lead initial stages of a deal, such as negotiating a term sheet and drafting the first draft of a purchase/merger agreement

Requirements

• 3-6 years of transactional/M&A experience at a law firm, primarily focused on private company M&A
• Experience with private equity/sponsor clients on acquisitions, dispositions and growth equity
• A J.D. degree (or its equivalent) and strong academic credentials
• Admitted in (and in good standing with), or taking steps to become admitted in, the applicable jurisdiction (Illinois or California)
