Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will support the design, development, and production of electrical switchboards and switchgear. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to develop practical skills in mechanical design, manufacturing, and project execution within the electrical industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the mechanical design of low-voltage and medium-voltage switchboards and switchgear enclosures.
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Support senior engineers with product development, engineering changes, and design improvements.
- Coordinate with electrical engineers to ensure mechanical designs meet project and customer requirements.
- Work with the production team to address manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Ensure engineering drawings and documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with prototype testing, product validation, and design reviews.
- Follow company engineering standards, quality procedures, and project schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 0–2 years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing (recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks for creating 3D models and engineering drawings.
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings and mechanical design principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and develop in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to sheet metal design or fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with electrical switchboards, switchgear, or industrial enclosures through coursework, internships, or work experience.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication.
