About the role
The Quality Associate Manager plays a critical role in the site leadership team, overseeing quality team operations, policies, and initiatives. They are responsible for maintaining quality certifications, leading a team of engineers and supervisors, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain AS9100 QMS certification
- Ensure total product integrity through quality vision, culture, and process improvement
- Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers and Inspection Supervisors
- Oversee incoming material and manufacturing inspections
- Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance management
- Mentor and grow team members' skills in continuous improvement
- Develop, implement, and monitor key quality metrics, systems, and procedures
- Define quality objectives and functional responsibilities
- Implement strategies to improve performance, reduce cost of poor quality, and enhance product performance
- Contribute to quality improvement efforts using a structured continuous improvement approach
- Oversee customer and supplier quality audit programs
- Manage customer score cards and warranty returns
- Interfere with teams to resolve quality issues
- Work with suppliers and customers to ensure high-quality value stream
- Collaborate with supply chain to develop and manage supplier metrics
- Participate in strategic planning and set quality targets
- Manage the quality organization's budget
- Interface effectively with customers, cross-functional teams, and executive management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field with 6+ years of relevant professional experience
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience with a Graduate degree
- Familiarity with quality standards and requirements such as AS9100, ITAR, and MIL-SPEC
- Experience in defense/microelectronics manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to contribute to quality improvement efforts
- Six Sigma / Lean experience preferred
- Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security level clearance
