Associate Manager, Process, Optimus (Night Shift)

About the role

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead, support, and manage a team of process technicians in enabling world-class manufacturing of Tesla’s cutting-edge humanoid AI robot. The primary quality we are looking for is an exceptional ability to learn quickly and implement effective training strategies. This role will support the Production team through preparation and planning, serving as an extension of the engineering staff in critical process development operations. The ideal candidate must be highly organized and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop a strong team through selective recruitment, thorough onboarding, training, and coaching.
• Oversee a team of technicians and supervisors to troubleshoot yield fallout, repair/rework, documentation, and accurate material inventory management in a rapidly evolving BOM and manufacturing process.
• Ensure seamless flow of information between shifts in an operation as large as the build process itself.
• Develop and maintain strategies for effective team skillset versatility.
• Create training methodologies to support production associate onboarding and certification for highly complex assembly processes in a dynamic environment.
• Maintain inventory of tools, rework parts, and consumable materials for process technician use.
• Develop and create repair procedures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in an assembly, manufacturing, or maintenance environment, with a minimum of 2 years managing a team.
• 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/operations leadership role.
• Degree in a technical domain or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in process repair, end-of-line repair, or remanufacturing is highly preferred.
• Ability to work and lead effectively within a manufacturing and engineering organization.
• Enthusiastic, innovative, and take-charge attitude; ability to work independently and set team priorities based on competing and urgent demands.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing methodologies and leadership.
• Proven record of developing technician team skillsets.

Pay

Expected compensation: $112,000 - $168,000 annual salary, plus cash and stock awards and benefits. Pay may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
