Associate Manager, Maintenance, Drive Unit
What You'll Do
Manage, mentor and lead a team of Supervisors at Gigafactory Nevada focused on manufacturing equipment, specifically within our Battery Module expansion team.
Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations.
Build and improve management systems to ensure all equipment operates safety, with high availability and product quality and low cycle time.
Own, report on and drive improvement of area KPI's including equipment availability, technician utilization, MTTR and spares consumption.
Coach Supervisors and Technicians to execute and communicate equipment servicing needs to increase equipment reliability.
Lead and assist Supervisors and Technicians in resolving unplanned down events and driving successful recoveries with high reliability.
Make daily resource allocation decisions, balancing competing priorities, to serve the needs of the maintenance, engineering, and production communities.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 3 years of operations maintenance management with hands-on experience in maintaining industrial equipment and automation; Gigafactory Nevada experience preferred
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent degree preferred, or evidence of exceptional experience
- Strong maintenance and reliability knowledge with applicable improvement and/or implementation experience, including safety and risk management
- Experience with maintenance database set-up and management, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program implementation
- Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes, including strong Allen Bradley PLC experience; Fanuc and/or Kuka robot experience is a plus
- Proficient in managing maintenance and preventative maintenance through CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) with detail-oriented organizational skills and proficient computer skills in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
- Excellent communication, coaching skills, self-motivated, results-oriented, with strong personal skills and a willingness to engage in hands-on work
