Associate Manager - Corporate Risk

Act as a technical resource for Property and Casualty clients and prospective clients in the areas of government compliance, principles of manufacturing, Workers' Compensation administration, along with auto, property, and liability loss control. Provide expertise that can help clients develop a safety culture and enhance production, safety, and quality within their workplace, assisting in personnel development as needed. Provide assistance telephonically, electronically, and in person.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with clients to create service plans to help reduce loss exposure
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of an organization, whether it be the agency, client, or carrier partner
  • Obtain the knowledge and skills required to effectively address issues relative to governmental compliance, quality control, and statistical analysis as related to the insurance industry and loss control
  • Utilize technical expertise to assist clients in the determination of potential loss sources
  • Build rapport with business leaders and production associates and persuade them to act against potential loss sources
  • Obtain Pennsylvania P&C Producer license
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, including PowerPoint, is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Travel daily, meet and interact with all levels of production and management members, and represent the agency in a professional manner
  • Advise, recommend, and warn clients of potential loss drivers present in their business
  • Make suggestions for improvement/abatement and provide training when needed
  • Act as a liaison between clients and carriers in prospecting potential clients or during the renewal process
  • Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Safety, an engineering discipline, or a business-related background
  • Ten plus years of professional service as a safety director or Loss Control Consultant with an insurance company
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, including PowerPoint (composition and delivery of PPT programs)
  • Knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, Workers' Compensation Law, and statistical analysis relative to industrial quality
  • General knowledge of Industrial Hygiene equipment and their applications
  • Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene standards, safeguards, and personal protective equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to perform keyboard work, verbal communications, and close vision computer use
  • May need to lift and/or move up to fifteen (15) pounds
  • Must be able to effectively deliver a wide range of safety/risk management content to a diverse client base and types of risk exposures
  • Required to set up and present safety/production material in environments ranging from traditional classroom settings to job-site locations with various distractions such as noise, weather, and other trades

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily while maintaining regular attendance that is acceptable to company standards.
