About the role

We are collaborating with an AV-rated civil litigation defense firm that seeks experienced Associate Attorneys to join their team in Walnut Creek, CA. The firm handles various practice areas including insurance defense, construction defect, premises liability, business litigation, and more.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters from initial intake through resolution, including legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and correspondence.
• Appear in court for hearings and trials.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Participate in mediations and settlement conferences.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
• Advise clients on risk management and business counseling issues, analyze contracts and policies, and develop strategies to prevent or mitigate disputes.

Qualifications

• Active CA bar license in good standing.
• Strong litigation skills, including legal research, motion practice, discovery management, and case strategy development.
• Experience or interest in civil practice areas such as real estate, construction, premises liability, personal injury, employment, and business disputes.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload.
• Prior civil litigation or clerkship experience highly preferred; experience in federal and California state courts is a plus!
