Associate Librarian - Children's Services Assignment
Salary: $22.85 - $35.29 hourly. This position is full-time with day and evening shifts, including rotating Saturdays.
About the role
This position is located at the Syracuse Branch of the Davis County Library. The Associate Librarian will focus on Children's Services and may include planning and conducting story times, scheduling and conducting outreach such as tours, school visits, and library programs.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance and guidance to library patrons by responding to reference questions; locates information sources and provides guidance regarding specific books and authors.
- Performs in-depth collection analysis under the direction of the Collection Development Manager; monitors collection use and generates statistical reports for this purpose.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of assigned library collections at the assigned location, under the direction of the Branch Manager; recommends library materials for purchase as assigned.
- Assists at the circulation desk when necessary; assists staff in resolving difficult situations with patrons.
- Material selection is a significant portion of this position. Responsibilities also include developing and implementing online reference services.
Requirements
- Graduation from a college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.
- Preference for experience in a city or county library system.
