About the role

The role involves monitoring and identifying important legal developments, writing news articles, setting direction, and providing tactical guidance. This position can be performed anywhere within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Gathering news and identifying relevant official documents regarding events and developments in the assigned practice areas
• Selecting which developments to report
• Digesting and providing explanation on court opinions and other litigation-related documents following guidance provided by manager
• Writing news articles for daily upload to website and inclusion in print publications
• Maintaining meeting all deadlines while producing publications in a timely manner
• Reviewing all available analytics of web-based usage of content to help drive content focus

Requirements

• Possess hard news reporting experience and excellent news judgment
• Have a Bachelor's degree in journalism/communications (relevant experience considered without a degree)
• Have the ability to multitask and reprioritize throughout the day
• Understand and explain complex legal topics
• Be a skilled and speedy news writer
• Possess excellent interviewing skills
• Be able to work Eastern time zone hours
• Have the ability to work independently

Pay

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $44,500 - $74,100. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.
