Associate Lecturer in Medical Pharmacology

About the role

This post is essential to ensure high-quality, consistent delivery of core medical/healthcare curriculum content and compliance with the General Medical Council (GMC) in Pharmacology and Prescribing. The role is particularly critical for training medical students who require a high level of knowledge in medical pharmacology and prescribing to pass the Medical Licensing Assessment (MLA) and Prescribing Safely Assessment (PSA) as required by the GMC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the interim delivery of Medical Pharmacology and Prescribing on the MBChB and MSc Physician Associate (PA) courses. You will contribute to the future development of the Three Counties Medical School as we train the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop learning materials for Medical Pharmacology and Prescribing.
• Deliver lectures, practical teaching, and assessments for medical students.
• Contribute to a high-quality student experience in collaboration with the Phase Lead.

Requirements

• Experience in teaching medical students or a similar audience is highly desirable.
• Ability to ensure compliance with GMC standards in Pharmacology and Prescribing.

If successful at interview, you may be invited to join a pool of sessional lecturers. Work availability is not guaranteed and will depend on student numbers, potentially offering only a few hours per week.
