Three Counties Medical School is seeking an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Biomedical Science to support the delivery of teaching on our graduate-entry four-year MBChB programme.

About the role

This role will contribute to the development, organisation, and delivery of Biomedical Science teaching for medical students, with particular emphasis on cell biology, microbiology, and/or biochemistry. Working closely with MBChB Phase Leads and colleagues across the School, the postholder will help ensure that Biomedical Science teaching is effectively integrated within the wider curriculum and aligned with the GMC Outcomes for Graduates.

The successful candidate will support the design and production of learning resources, contribute to practical teaching and assessment activity, and help provide a high-quality student experience. There may also be opportunities to support students as a Personal Academic Tutor, in line with School and University expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and delivery of Biomedical Science teaching, focusing on cell biology, microbiology, and/or biochemistry.
  • Collaborate with MBChB Phase Leads and colleagues to integrate teaching within the wider curriculum.
  • Develop and produce learning resources for medical students.
  • Contribute to practical teaching and assessment activities.
  • Provide a high-quality student experience and potentially serve as a Personal Academic Tutor.

If not already an employee of the University of Worcester, the appointed candidate will be employed through Uniworc Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary. Appointees will automatically be enrolled into the Aviva FlexHE defined contribution pension scheme (subject to eligibility).

This post does not meet the minimum salary requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route, so applicants requiring sponsorship to work in the UK cannot be considered.

Successful candidates may be invited to join a pool of sessional lecturers. Work availability depends on student numbers and is not guaranteed, potentially offering only a few hours per week.
