About the role
Join Amazon's Transportation Operations Management (TOM) team as an Associate Learning & Development Trainer and play a crucial role in shaping our transportation network's future. In this DOT-regulated position, you'll combine your transportation expertise with hands-on training delivery to develop our Transportation Associates' (TAs) critical skills. You'll lead classroom, virtual, and yard training sessions, focusing on safety, operational excellence, and compliance.
Responsibilities
Train Delivery
- Deliver standardized classroom, virtual, and hands-on training following established curriculum
- Conduct comprehensive new hire onboarding covering yard safety, equipment operation, and Amazon policies
- Provide continuous education programs including safety refreshers and operational updates
Over-the-Road (OTR) Training
- Deliver safe driving techniques and defensive driving principles
- Ensure compliance with DOT requirements through proper vehicle inspections and documentation
- Train associates on route planning, navigation, and emergency response protocols
Safety and Operations
- Execute yard safety observations and provide real-time coaching to Transportation Associates
- Support yard operations during high-volume events through yard management and shuttling
- Partner with site leadership to maintain safety standards and operational excellence
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate training records including attendance, completion, and safety observations
- Track and report training metrics while providing feedback on program effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with Amazon policies, safety protocols, and DOT regulations
Qualifications
High school or equivalent diploma
Class A commercial driver's license (CDL)
Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
Two or more years of verifiable CDL driving experience in the last ten years
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of CDL driver training experience
Experience delivering structured training programs
Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA rules, regulations, and record keeping
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information

Pay
The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select.
Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
